Though Bracken started as a way for Hood's Chris Adams to further search the observational soil he had kickoff touched upon in 1997 under the cognomen Downpour, as he began on the job in his cellar studio in Leeds, he shortly realised that something different -- slower, and more contemplative -- was coming out instead, and decided to go with it. Part experimental, component part indie electronica, Bracken gibe in well with the take a breather of the Anticon roster he was signed to, a label he had been in striking with since 2001, when Odd Nosdam, Doseone, and Why? contributed to Hood's record album Cold House. Anticon released Bracken's single Infidel in the fall of 2006, and the following January the full-length We Know About the Need came out.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs new tracks are inspired by cats

Yeah Yeah Yeahs are working on some new songs in the studio - with cats providing the inspiration.

The band recently moved to the country from the city to continue work on tracks for their new album - the follow-up to their acclaimed 2006 record 'Show Your Bones'.

A message on the band's blog explained their reason for escaping the hectic city life and said: "One thing the city don't have that the country got is SPACE and there has been plenty of spacing out in the studio as of late."

The trio also revealed one of their current, and past, inspirations - kittens.

The blog continued: "Fuzzy soft muses aka kittens have played a major role in the writing process of YYY's current and past records. 'Show Your Bones' was written in Sam Spiegel's home studio amidst the birth of a litter of kittens, little gold lions scrambling around."

The band added there is one particular kitten, called Squeaker, who is inspiring their third record.

The group said of the kitten: "We've watched him grow before our very eyes from a blind and helpless little thing into a frisky and fierce little beauty - much like the tunes we're writing."

The Malawian father of MADONNA's adopted son DAVID BANDA has spoken of his heartbreak at letting his son go - insisting he didn't "abandon" the tot.

The pop superstar found David, now two, in a Malawian orphanage in 2006, and started the official adoption process - taking him back to live with her in Britain.

And Yohane Banda insists he never wanted to leave the youngster in an orphanage, but severe poverty forced him to take drastic action.

Banda lost two children in childbirth and his wife died soon after David was born, and he feared he would struggle to survive as a single father.

He says, "After losing two sons, I really wanted David to survive. It isn't true that we abandoned him."

And when news broke that a "rich white woman" was interested in adopting the tot, Banda was forced to agree it would be the best thing for the child.

He adds, "We sat down as a family to consider it. After banging our heads together we thought this was good for David so we readily agreed."

Madonna and her husband Guy Ritchie face a final adoption hearing in the country later this week (07May08) where she is expected to be granted official custody of David Banda.

Murderdolls is a collaboration 'tween Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison (wHO affected over to guitar for this project) and Static-X guitar player Tripp Eisen. Landing somewhere 'tween the belligerent throb of rap metal and the energetic charge of hardcore punk rock, Murderdolls formed when the two toured together during the 1999 Ozzfest. Drafting isaac Bashevis Singer Wednesday 13, bassist Eric Griffin, and drummer Ben Graves into the shuffle, the ring recorded and released Beyond the Valley of the Murderdolls in 2002.

American Idol - Onerepublic Star Sang At Idol Finale With Injury

ONEREPUBLIC frontman RYAN TEDDER struggled his way through his performance at last week's (ends23May08) AMERICAN IDOL finale - because he was in agony from a torn Achilles tendon.

The rocker hobbled on crutches down the red carpet at California's Nokia Theatre L.A. Live last Wednesday (21May08), before taking to the stage with his bandmates to perform their hit song Apologize with finalist David Archuleta.

But, despite calling his injury "so painful" and one of "the worst things" he had ever experienced, Tedder managed to crack a joke about the accident.

He quipped to MTV.com: "I was on the beach, and these baby seals were getting clubbed, and I ran up and stopped the clubbing, and they clubbed me."

When the Black Crowes either skint up or went on indefinite hiatus (depends on wHO you need and sometimes when you enquire), guitar player Rich Robinson exhausted a few months with his family at habitation, computation out what to do next. There were some deaths in his extended family that exactly added to how unusual it was adjusting to life without the Crowes, and how strange it was to be working on projects without his brother, singer Chris Robinson. He complete up edifice a studio in his Connecticut family and worked on his production chops. New avenues were opening, too, with Robinson composition the soundtrack for the 2001 film Highway piece severely working on his painting for the number one time since the Crowes had formed.


In 2003, he formed the four-piece isthmus Hookah Brown, which toured a bit before Robinson accomplished he couldn't stand isthmus politics any longer. Going it alone meant vocalizing lessons, since the guitarist had never handled lead vocals. It took one lesson for Robinson to realize his technique was all wrong. It built up his confidence and renewed his interest in releasing an album. Playing everything merely the drums himself, Robinson soon had sufficiency for an album. Joe Magistro took care of the drum parts, then node appearances from ex-Crowes keyboardist Eddie Hawrsch and BR5-49's Donnie Herron were added, and the album was done. Robinson released the result, Newspaper, in August of 2004 on his own Keyhole pronounce.
